I just put in a neoii and bought GS1.6--After holding reset the and pressing -startgame-without codes-and then releasing reset the tray doesn't eject. So i press eject and swap cd's and it says loading but it doesn't load even after 5 min. Whatzup?

err... Those games are EA sports games. They don't work with a NEO2.... GS 1.6 won't open tray when reset button is pushed.

the gameshark doesn't have anything to do with the tray not opening after you hold reset, ##### pin's 5 and 6 on the board and on the chip

I am almost sure i put the wires on 5 and 6 perfectly, is the anyway i can see if the chip is installed right without tearing it apart again? Warlock? i need your help? is it 5 and 6 that control the reset opening the tray? maybe my backup is just shitty? thanks for your help

Pins 5,6, control the tray when using the EA boot method .If you hold down the reset button for 10sec and release it the tray should open if it doesnt it is a bad chip or bad install. the solder points for pin's 5 and 6 are very small and very close together. Using a magnifying glass look at the two pin's carefully making sure no excess solder is touching anything but the two pins and should in no way be connecting the two points together, it only takes a speck of excess solder to short out the connection, also i tape my wires to the board along with the chip so that when i am reassembling the PS2 they dont get in the way of any of the pressure contacts on the board. If you have a version4 PS2 be sure to select a spot on the board for the chip that has enought clearance so that the metal cover will not pinch or groundout the chip...Good luck cleetus i hope this helps and you get it sorted

When i got my PS2 back from gettin it chipped, i could not open the tray either.. It could be something simple, maybe the tray is just offer the runners. if u can open it a bit just pull it open and then press the button to take it in again.

Well, I have a similar problem. I first had the chip installed in a store, and they messed it up. Since then, the tray opens, but sometimes at really FAST speeds. I took it to another store, they were able to install another chip that now works (more or less, see my post about that ####://www.fileforums.com/cgi-bin/UB/UltraBoard.cgi?action=Read&BID=2&TID=10702&SID=8392 ) but the tray still opens very quick when I do the action replay switch.
I guess I also have a problem on that pins that control the tray.

I resoldered points 5 and 6 keeping a razor blade inbetween and it solved my problem, my tray now opens, but the games don't load on the GS 1.6 loading screen--they spin up, but 2 seconds later they stop. I am using cdrwin 4.something and a 1 to 1 burn. F--- this is starting to piss me off
