Plexwriter 24/10/40a doesn't read at 1X lowest possible 4X will this be a problem backup protect

As my subject states the Plex 24/10/40a-16/10/40a do not support 1X reading. Now what I'm wondering, is that going to effect the read of the protected cd because what I've read in the past is that when you backup safedisc protected cd's you are suppose to read it at 1X to be certain that you get all the information that is on the disk. Is this the case anymore? With the Plex 24/10/40a slowest read speed being 4X. is that slow enough to read these copy protected cd and make a 1:1 copy of it?

I've read that alot of people have indeed made perfect 1:1 copies of all protections with this burner. So it seems that the fact it doesn't read at 1X isn't a very important concern. Is this the case?

Thanks for your help.

If this can help, I just bought a Plextor 24/10/40 and installed the latest firmware (1.02)...It's great! I've already made several backups and it works really fine; for safedisc2 games, you can select 4x reading, then burn it to the max.

What's the model # for the 24/10/40 Plex. are you all referring to? I see 2, the Model: PT-CW24 24x10x40 (with 2MB Buf) for $150 and the Model:PX-W2410TA/SW (with 4MB Buf) for $290. WTF? is 2 extra MB of buffer worth an extra $140?

if u r asking for the famous/infamous TLA# , mine's #0101 , model PX-W2410TA, didnt know that there's 2 diff versions of this plexie
All I know its that it copied everything ok til now, I have copied SD2 discs (EA's) like 10 Audio CD's , 80min CD's (For Champ Man) and they all recorded in less than 6min...actually, most of em just a little bit over 4min.
Check that models agains, cant be that diff for only 2mb Buffer..I got mine here in Argentina (u can believe me theyre really expensive here) for $250 (some places listed as much as 350)
So if u r in the US or any other country with decent prices this one I have (PX-W2410) should be as much as 200 or cheaper I think

Salutes from Argentina
