AOE II - The Conquerors Expansion, installation of...

After playing, & liking, Age of Empires 2, I decided to !buy! the expansion. However, when I try to install it, it says I haven't got AOE 2 installed on my PC. Does anyone know to get around this? I'm a newbie, so keep it simple! Cheers.

Ya, my wife bought me the expansion too and I can not play it.
I have AOE 2 on my hard drive and the expansion game does not
notice it.

I haven't found a way around it, sorry. I needed to re-install Aoe II before I installed The Conquerors expantion pack.

Completely deleting and reinstalling both solved the problem for me, now my problem is you need more than 1 copy of the expansion disk to play on a network, I have 2 computers,and have tried to copy the expansion, and so far its the only Cd I have tried to copy and cant, and the No Cd crack here says my file size is incorrect, so I need help with this please.
