backing up selfbooting backups ...again

Ok, there have been post after post on how to burn a backup of a selfbooting backup game. Using DJ3, I can burn selfbooting games no problem with all the default DJ3 settings. The thing is though, I can't seem to make a correct image of selfbooting backup games, namely Shenmue (but selfbooting backups in general). I can image it and burn it, but I get taken to the CD player screen when I put it in my dreamcast. My friend, using Discjuggler3 and the same settings as me (ISRC and UPC | Scan gaps/indexes | Overburn CD all checked), can image and burn selfbooting backups no problem. If I copy the image he makes and burn it in my CD-RW drive (using the exact same burn settings as him which are: Audio Mode | Block 2352 | CD-DA TOC | Overburn CD checked only), the game works fine. My friend uses the default pfc.inf and not Jinxter's Ghost Drive (which I have tried). He doesn't even have the latest APSI32 drivers installed. So my problem here is correctly imaging a backup of a selfbooting game. I have a Memorex CRW-1622 and my friend has a Memorex CDRW-4420. Anyone have a Memorex CRW-1622 and can successfully image and burn backups of selfbooting games? Oh yeah, I've read Big Poppa's post and all...still no luck.
