Angry call of duty backup

im trying to play my backup of call of duty...i get to the install where it asks for disk 2 but when i put the backup cd in it doesnt recognize it......ive tried nero and cdrwin5 but it doesnt wanna work....i thought it was because i was naming the cd wrong (couldnt fit all the characters that the install asked for "Call of Duty CD 2"). but iso doesnt allow for that many characters.....not sure what the problem is....can u help me play my backup

Cd label is wrong, if you've done a proper 1:1 copy of your original disc(s), this won't happen.

Hello 99zoomer99,

I have to agree with "ByteMare". (Cool name by the way). I think you will find that it is easier and generally more successfull to do a proper one to one (1:1) copy of a protected game using any of the following programs.

Alcohol 120% (My personal favorite)
http://www.alcohol-software.com/

Blindwrite
http://www.vso-software.fr/

CloneCD
http://www.slysoft.com

A good source of information that I have found on how to use these programs, and others, is at the forums at:

http://www.cdfreaks.com

I hope this is helpfull to you.

Take care.

I appreciate the replies but i i dont think u understand the prob....its looking for a cd named "Call of Duty CD2". the burn is good, its an exact copy of the original but it is looking for a cd of that name. i caant name it "Call of Duty CD 2" because iso titles dont let me use a title of that length. i cant get joliet to work so that i can make the cd title longer.....what r your ideas on that

Try this

Hey bud. I had the same problem. And I fixed it.

Name each CD label to "CoD1" and "CoD2" (without quotes). That fixed the problem for me.

Now I have to deal with an incompatibility issue with my damn video card.

Anyhow, good luck.

@ 99zoomer99:

1. Take "A-Ray Scanner v.2.0.2.3" for scanning the CDs for their copy protection, "ClonyXXL" is too old!
2. Make a 1:1-copy of the discs with "CloneCD 5" or "GameJack 5"! Then the 2nd CD will be recognized! NERO won't work, I had the same problem!

CloneCD 5: http://www.slysoft.com/de/
GameJack 5: http://www.gamejack.org/

That has probaly nothing to do with CoD, especially not with the label lol

1. GameJack 5 is crap, better spend your money on Alcohol 120%, a LOT better
2. i burned CoD with nero 6.6 and it worked
I guess nero is not able to do a working 1:1 copy of Safedisc 4, but CoD had SafeDisc 2.9 or 3, i dunno and Nero managed to get a good result.
What did you do?
