Just bought a Sony DRU 500ax, quick question

I currently have a Magic chip installed, but I have a damaged Madden 2003 original game that loads up fine to the main menu, but must have gotten a scratch or something as it freezes when loading up a game.

My question is, A. Can I make a backup of an original of Madden 2003, on DVD? Or is there a limit to which games you can backup on DVD?

B. Even though it is slightly scratched, will I still be able to make a backup of it?

One last question, the burner came with a Soney DVD+RW, can I use that for games? Or do I have to use DVD+/- R's?

Thanks very much!

If the original doesn't work then a copy likely wont either. You might want to try cleaning it with some dish soap and warm water to see if that helps. If Madden 2003 is a dvd game then yes you can back it up to a dvd. If it is a cd then it needs to be backed up on a cd. If you have a v5 or higher ps2 then your +rw should work ok. Check here to see what version you have. If it is lower than a v5 you should use -r.

Carefully using some car polish car remove some scratches.

It's worth a try, I've done it and the game worked long enough to get a back-up of it.
