Please: I need help on ripping PS2 Movie Files
I have scoured the internet, I have tried reading every guide out there, but I cannot figure out how to rip the movie files from certain ps2 games.
The problem is that most to all of the tools are made to extract the files so they can be dumied/dvdripped. I dont want to do this, I want to extract the movies so I can encode them into avi and watch them anytime I want. Also, I want to rip the movies directly from the source files, I dont want to hook up my ps2 to a tv and use a capture card. 1. Zone of the Enders, Zone of the Enders 2, and Metal Gear Solid 2 all seem to do the same thing. They store all the movie files in one huge file called movies.dat. I have NOT been able to do anything with these $#@%^@#%$# files. I tried a ZOE1 movie extractor once. Although it was able to extract the seperate pss files, they were unusable. It was only meant to extract the movie files so they can be ripped and put on cd. 2. Guilty Gear XX. First time ive seen this, all the movie files are just bunched up into one movies.PAK file. 3. Yumeria. Another strange game, this one puts all the files into one movimage.bin file. Does anyone please have any information on how to rip ANY of the movies from these games? I have been trying for MONTHS.

Alright found something for your metal gear solid 2 http://www.alucard.cc/new/Metal.zip Dunno if it works, let us know.
Also this for opening your *.pak files NC VFS browser http://www.geocities.com/d_evils_thrill/ For *.bin files you can use a lot of tools to open that up... Winimage, UltraISO etc. The first 2 i just did a search on google and found that. Last edited by FreeFighter; 16-05-2004 at 18:36. |

If I remember correctly, the Guilty Gear XX movie files are actually just MPEG-2 files. You can open them with something like DVD2AVI.
But there's no audio though... |
