my back up games keep asking for a cd.... why is this???

I made a back up of C&C generals with alcohol 120% and installed with the back up to test it and it does install. But it ask for a cd even though the right back up is in the cd tray. What can i do???? i have tried daemon tools but find that only works with an iso on the hard drive and thats no good because iso's take up way to much space on the hard drive. Is there any way i can just make a 1:1 copy with out the head ache? I have been fighting with this back up stuff for a month now and really need any help i can get at this point. Thanks

Step 1: download the tool PROTECTION ID from http://www.cdkiller2002.tk/

Step 2: scan the main exe of the game you want to copy with the downloaded tool
(I think Generals is Safedisc2 protected, but scan it!)

Step 3: Read the FAQs on top of this board! Specific the part about the protection the game has.

Then you will have the wisdom to make a 1:1 backup.

Personally, I just use a Nocd fix and put the original away. No bothering with copies and such. But that's just me, I guess.

safedisc 2 protection on generals if i remember correctly
so i'd guess you have made a bad image.. try again (make sure to use the safedisc profile in alcohol) and try reading at a lower speed.. 2x or 4x usually has a good success rate

and like GLH said.. read the faq's

Why don't you just download Generals no-cd/fixed crack?

perhaps because he might want to make a working backup copy without needing the nocd/fixed exe crack?
