Question EA Boot Method

Okay i got a question. I have a pal PS2 with a neo 2.2 chip fitted. WEll i was trying to patch a EA game(NBA Street) so i thought like i won't have to go through the EA Boot method. However after i patched the game, I tried to boot it up with a DVD region X, but it didn't work. Then i tried the EA Boot method and it worked. But it didn't work with the other normal boot method.

I did the same thing with FIfa 2001, i patched the game hoping it will boot up like the other non EA ps2 backups but still no luck.

I was hoping if someone could help me out here with some answers. Thanks alot.

Use CloneCD to make a 1:1 copy of an EA game (unless you've downloaded it). If your reader/burner are RAW-DAO+96 compatible then you won't need the EA boot method.
