Been using the Taiyo Yuden and Ridata brand DVD-R for movie backups.

I went through our movie library the other day to see how well these 2 brands of DVD's held up after about a year or better of sitting on a shelf, to my surprise very few of the backups worked where most couldn't even make it through the whole movie disc without an error where they all worked perfectly when they were first backed up. Tried these on multiple players and the same thing happened. Can anyone sugget a better brand of blank disc to use for movie backups?

Read DigitalFAQ.com's Blank DVD media quality guide. (In short: Ridata sucks, Taiyo Yuden should be excellent.) Are you sure your DVD drive is working fine?
