Blue Chip

Guys,

I've just my friend PS2 Version 7 with Blue Chip, the problem is, the sony browse screen is scrolling but it can boot PS2 CD properly, it can't boot PS1 and PS2 DVD, do you know why??, I've double checked the soldering point, but they are all ok, and if I hold down reset until red lights up, and press reset again once, the screen scrolls, it can boot PS2 CD properly (during playing the game the scrolling screen vanished, in other word it worked properly).

but it can't boot PS1 CD, the instruction say, hold down reset until red lights up, and press reset once, and after the blue lights up press reset once again, after this the sony screen doesnt scroll, and PS1 CD doesnt boot at all

PS2 DVD original and original PS1, DVD movie can play without any problem, so I assume, the PS2 in good state (not faulty)

dust2dust
so your main problem is it wont play ps2 dvdr

try cleaning your laser
try using a better brand dvdr
try calibrating your laser
replace your laser

ps1 cd problem i would guess at being wrong boot method

Supposedly the Blue Chips only worked correctly on an Asian ps2.

Tyler!
That's the point - Asian and PAL in that order were the only places to report a degree of success.
