Baldur's Gate and optional Tales of Sword Coast *US Version*

Copy all CDs to a temp folder, there are no duplicate files to be overwritten. don't combine the CD folders together, keep them in the individual CD1, CD2 etc. folders. This is all that is needed to just put Baldur's Gate on a DVD. Just burn the contents of the temp folder onto a DVD. If you want to add Tales of Sword Coast to the DVD, follow these instructions. First create a folder in the temp folder which contains the Baldur's Gate DVD files and name it anything you like, I named it Tales of Sword Coast. Copy the entire Tales of Sword Coast CD into this folder. Also copy just the CD6 folder to the root of the DVD with the rest of the CD1-5 folders. This is necessary for the game to access the files which are not installed.

If you want an automated install, then you will have to create a new autorun. I just created an autorun which launches the original autoruns. it checks if Baldur's Gate is installed, if it isn't, then the Baldur's Gate menu is started. If Baldur's Gate is installed, then the Tales of Sword Coast\Autorun.exe is started. The Tales of Sword Coast autorun is also started if both are install. You just need to activate the DVD autorun after installing Baldur's Gate.

Here is the Autorun File, Use "save target as" and save as a .zip file. I changed the extension to .jpg to avoid the direct link restrictions on this host.

Download

Don't rename anything, just add the Launch.exe and the autorun.inf file which I have already changed to start this file instead of the Autorun.exe to your temp folder containing the DVD files. DO NOT rename this file to Autorun.exe or it will start unending loop because it will keep starting itself over and over.

I also added a string to this autorun to stop BG from asking you to register it every time you start the game. It just deletes the Reg32a.exe files from the game folders.

Anyone have the autorun for this? The link is broken or censored or something.

@ditto_n
Visit cd-2-dvd.com and you will find all the files you need.
You will need to register but it is free.
To find the Baldur's Gate autorun file, on cd-2-dvd.com, from the homepage use the 'Conversions' link (its in the top left hand corner of the homepage).
Then scroll down the list to 'Baldur's Gate and optional Tales of Sword Coast DVD *US Version*'. Then you will find the link to the autorun file.

P.S: I have fixed the Download link in the above conversion but it may not work unless you are registered with cd-2-dvd.com.

Hello,
I want to do the same with BG2+ToB -> build autoran that launches the original autoruns and if Baldur's Gate 2 is installed, then the Throne of Bhaal\Autorun.exe is started. The ToB autorun should also start if both are install. What program should I use to create this custom autoran?
Thanks in advance

Just a corretion for you, the above post was written by 'The One', not by me.

To create a Custom Installer we use either Autoplay Media Studio or CDMenuPro.
Search for them using Google, you can get a trial version to practise with but these trial versions can sometimes stop working after approximately 1 month!
So it is better to actually purchase one of them.

CDMenuPro is probably the easiest to use, but Autoplay Media Studio will give you more options in your installer. It just depends on exactly what you want to do.

Thanks Grumpy for info. I tried to build my own autostart without any pop up screen but it's to hard for me. I'm totally green. If it is possible I want to request the same autoran that The One made but for BG2+Throne of Bhaal.
Thanks in advance.
