Do You People Actualy Want The Ps3 To Be Hacked

I use to frequent the scene alot back in the xbox years. sorta loss interest after a good while. but now i am wondering about the ps3

I would love the ps3 to be hacked, but not for games but to enable a better media system then it is already.

that being said has there been any way to get .mkv playing on it yet (preferable h264) and since h264 mp4 don't play nor the same in an avi container, the same question goes for them also.

its a program called playstation media server. it turns any windows pc into a media server. one of its awesome features is that it converts mkv files in realtime into a temp cache. ive been using it for awhile now. you should give it a try, it requies little to no config. i promise

Well, i use my old ps2 (with SMS) for all my living room media needs. Play from usb or network (never got it to work though) and work great for me. Too bad though, no HDMI. I know there are usb dongles that "jailbreak" the ps3 but i never tried one yet as i am content with my ps2 for now but not much homebrew stuff around though.
