PS3 game extracted

I've just found "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance" on a popular download site. Not much information there other than the file size (7,353.7 MB).

Bring it on

Cool, Maybe this time next year we will be able to backup the games. I know right now a Blu-ray burner is $1000 here in the US. I guess thats not to bad considering i paid $500 for my first Pioneer A03, however, I am definately going to wait for a price drop this time .

I'm assuming m8 that the PS3 will play DVD-R movies m8, in which case the file size gives us optimism

from what I've heard a hdd loader for the PS3 is not that far away. I say we'll give the PS3 6months and it will be a fully fledged media center wich excellent backup capabilites/play games from hdd.

With all this linux possibilites and all skilled coders, hackers and intelligent people I'd say the PS3 is the new xbox in terms of what you can do...

Same here Brother, Paid $500 on the dot for A03 burner..
The BD-Burner are around $700.00 now..Sony Brand..So Ironic huh?
Anyway I'll give it year at most and then wait little bit for the burners to drop down to $300-$400 or so..By the way if the Marvel Alliance is around 8 gigs or so does that mean it's DL-Disc?

I'm not sure if all PS3 titles are Blu-ray or just a select few. If i remember correctly most games at PS2 launch was on CD-R then gradually moved over to DVD. I'm not sure if this applies to PS3 but i will check around and find out .

Sony forces all company to put their games onto BluRay this time for better protection >.>

and yeah you are right, several ps2 games run off CDs, Tekken Tag tournament for example, and even today some games are still released on CD, like Street Fighter Collection etc

However, BluRay-discs are expensive...
And it should be possible to rip a BluRay-game to DVD(s).
We will see

Hi Guys

Well If The Game Drop Down To DVD9 From Blu-Ray.
Most People Will Not Mind Burning Blu-Ray To DVD9.

As Long As PS3 Can Read DVD9 Backup.

Tell me, if we make backup of some game and that backup for example is image of 7 gigs can we burn that image on DVD9 and play the game.
Do we need than some kind of loader or firmware or maybe some hardware change of chip for playing games.

Sorry on my bad english, i have Ps3 only for a month

TX

Unless I'm mistaken BD-R is 25 gigs and BD-R DL is 50 gigs..
So If a PS3 game that is actually 25 gigs I don't see it happening on DVD-R DL/DVD+R DL which holds around 7.96 I believe..
Unless like the earlier days of PS2 where hack groups were down sizing games..For example was Xenosaga 1 when DL discs were expensive so hack group downsize the game to a 4.38 gigs..
