Most of the sites I visit recoment Verbatim CD-Rs, then TDK. I saw some black bottom Memorex at the store today and was wondering if those would be just as good. There is also a Mod store that sells black bottoms as well.
Does anybody know if those black bottoms are as good as Verbatim or TDK? I just can't seem to find those two anywhere. |

I have never tried the Memorex but I use PNY's Black Diamond all the time, I have yet to find any type of cd I could not use be it black or blue or green or clear!!
I personally think the hype about the black disk came from when they were first released, burners were not set up to use the off color. |

Verbatims are the best. black cds are shit because half dont work and you cant see how good the game was burned eg. if it looks cleanly burned, no dust particles effected the burn(experienced people will know what I'm on about).

I agree Verbatim's are the best, I perfer the Verbatim's I purchase from Sam's Club, clear bottom and white top, no label or writing so when the disk is label you don't have any hint of writing showing through!!
But I have not found any disk that I couldn't use be it black or blue or green or gold and I have burned a rediculous number of disk from SVCD's, computer software, and compulation disk. |

Man i thought these Black cdr's had died a death years ago...
For PSX backups, they are as useful as a chocolate fire guard or a square wheel. Where was that "Search" function again........

I'll just state that all my back ups for Ps games are on PNY Black Diamond and I have no problems playing them on my 3 Playstations, two Playstations and one PSone with ex-change disk. No black disk problem here.

I Can't understand all the fuss about which disc's are the best......
I good image can be written to any CDR, I have used Verbatim in the past but I mainly use the cheapest, I bought some last week at 13p per disc and backed up a game successfully on every single one of them (I bought 100) I you are having problems maybe its your burner, your software, your PSX, or the game image itself (I always take a game image at x2 speed) So please no more posts about which disc's are the best, I'm sure it's all a scam to promote certain brands........ Hope this is the final word on the matter......... |
