How Does Empire Earth v2 Update Affect AOC Expansion?

I see that Sierra has an update for Empire Earth to v2. Does anyone know if this update affects or enhances the Art of Conquest expansion? Is this update only useful for playing the base Empire Earth game or should it be installed even with Art of Conquest installed?

The next question is: If I install the version 2 update will the current NoCD patch for Art of Conquest still work?

I think you will find its a game in itself.. not an expansion but a whole new build
