Issues Backing up DVD and viewing.

I have been having issues with DVD Burning. When viewing a back up of a movie it stops/skips/freezes and is unviewable.

I recently bought a Lite-On SOHW-812s DVD burner and have been using it to backup my DVDs and have not been having any success. All my movies have issues when viewing.

I'm using the following items:
Lite-On SOHW-812s
DVD Decrypter
Clone DVD 2 (Versions 25.4.3)
Media - Ridata DVD+R RIDATA DRD+47-4X-RDSM
Media - Ridata DVD-R RITEK DRD-47-4X-RDSM

Most recently I bought the +R thinking the media was the issue, but I'm still having the same issue. Also, I've tried to view on different DVD players thinking one might be the issue.

Thank you for any help you can offer.

I assume that you are using DVDdecrypter to create an ISO file or VOB files on your hard drive and then burning the ISO or VOBs onto a DVD, correct? Is so, watch the movie from your hard drive using Daemon to mount the ISO or by running the VOBs in your software DVD player.

If you see no problems then you know the write to your hard disk is fine and the files are not corrupted. Next is the burning of the DVD; you may want to update or change your burner software, or change clone DVD 2 to another tool. If you have updated/changed them and still getting the same corrupted video, then the DVD drive is unable to burn the video data at a constant rate.

Is anything (AV, firewall, IE, etc.) running in the background while you are burning? If so shut all apps. down and do not use your PC while burning. Another possible cause is the drive configuration (IDE cable, set for master or slave)? Another idea is to burn at a slower speed. Finally if you have a friend with a properly working DVD burner, quickly swap his DVD burner for yours and see if it burns properly, if not then maybe your DVD burner is defective...

Thank you for responding ender. Currently I've been using Decrypter in the File mode burning all files to the hard drive (Never have any errors if that means anything). Then I use the clone 2 dvd with latest software to burn the main movie files and menus.

I'll try your suggestions and see how that works.

USOQ is the firmware I am using at the moment. Didn't state that early.

Thank you,
