Dead Space (DVD9 to 2x DVD5)

Dead Space (DVD9 to 2xDVD5)

1) Create temp folders

Dead Space
Dead Space2

2) Copy DVD content to 'Dead Space'

3) Download correct ds-autorun.7z for your version and extract it into 'Dead Space', overwrite when asked

ds-autorun-v2.7z Multi6 (English UK/US, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Russian)
ds-autorun-m4-v2.7z Multi4 (English UK/US, Spanish, French)
ds-autorun-m2-defr-v2.7z Multi2 (French, German)
ds-autorun-m2-esit-v2.7z Multi2 (Spanish, Italian)

4) Move 'ch01-ch12' folders from 'Dead Space' to 'Dead Space2'

5) Copy autorun.inf and DS_48.ico from 'Dead Space' to 'Dead Space2'

6) Edit autorun.inf in 'Dead Space2' and change open=AutoRun.exe to open=0

7) Burn or make isos with labels Dead Space and Dead Space2

Install Sequence: DVD1-DVD2-DVD1

Conversion: cdvirus
Modified files: ravd

NOTE: depending which program you use for making your backups, there will be one problem with missing files and that is thumbs.db files
in Support folder which are included in install progress in autorun.dat, some programs doesn't include automatically "hidden system files"
and installer will error about missing thumbs.db if these aren't also in your backup disk.

Don't remove these from autorun.dat or some languages won't work (can't apply transform)

Fix: If using ImgBurn then check these boxes before making iso in Options tab, "Include Hidden Files" and "Include System Files".

If you want to edit autorun.dat yourself, then you find info how to edit embedded mst's in this link (knowledge of using orca is needed)
Tutorials: Useful tools, freeware programs, scripts etc

Dead Space (DVD9 to DVD5) [msi+inno] updated

note1: Works on any version of Dead Space

thanks to nando2002 and mondragon for creating this nice msi+inno method

1) Download dead_space_innomsi.7z and extract it to any temp folder

Content
Code:
DEADSPACE\
DS\
Inno\*.* [inno files]
01_compile.bat
02_ds-dummy.bat
autorun_settings.txt [settings to add in autorun.dat]
dead_space.iss
2) Copy DVD content to 'DEADSPACE' folder

3) Move these folders from 'DEADSPACE' to 'DS'

audiostreams
ch01_flt
ch02_med
ch03_eng
ch04_brg
ch05_med
ch06_hyd
ch07_min
ch08_brg
ch09_mil
ch10_crw
ch11_flt
ch12_col
global_assets
movies

4) Run 01_compile.bat and wait it to finish (Compiling takes over hour to finish) and after it finishes move created files to 'DEADSPACE' folder

DSSetup.exe
DSSetup-1.bin
DSSetup-2.bin
DSSetup-3.bin

7) Run 02_ds-dummy.bat, after it finishes move folders from created 'DS-Dummy' folder to 'DEADSPACE' folder

audiostreams
ch01_flt
ch02_med
ch03_eng
ch04_brg
ch05_med
ch06_hyd
ch07_min
ch08_brg
ch09_mil
ch10_crw
ch11_flt
ch12_col
global_assets
movies

9) Open autorun.dat with Orca and add these new rows

Code:
in table CustomAction, add a new row and set these values:
Action: DS
Type: 50
Source: InnoSetup
Target: DSSetup.exe /SILENT

in table InstallUISequence, add a new row and set these values:
Action: DS
Condition: NOT Installed
Sequence: 1302

in table Property, add a new row and set these values:
Property: InnoSetup
Value: DSSetup.exe
Save.

9) Burn or make iso with label DEADSPACE from 'DEADSPACE' folder

You should try the conversion DVD9 to 1 DVD5. It works very well!

@ShadowLh, make sure dvd2 label is: Dead Space2 (dvd1 label: Dead Space)

Not Dead Space 2 or other variation, it must be exactly Dead Space2

label is very important for recognizing dvd

I've created a nice little INNO script for this game, similar to what mondragon did in brothers in arms: hell's highway. If you would like to use this script to compress your game, you'll need to first download and install....

INNO Setup quickpack : http://files.jrsoftware.org/ispack/ispack-5.2.3.exe
ISSI : http://members.home.nl/albartus/issi/ISSI-Setup.exe

*ISSI needs to be installed to c:\program files\ISSI*

Download and extract the contents of my script to your c:\ drive. Then open up DeadSpace.iss in the extracted folder (should be c:\DeadSpace\Deadspace.iss) and read the notes at the top of the script.

Download here : DeadSpace.7z

~Enjoy!

Use Multi6 (English UK/US, Czech, Hungarian, Polish, Russian) msi from conversion. Multi5 or 6 is same thing, i just named it multi6 because there was separate mst files for US and UK
