Arrow Wireless Scan with Kodak 5250

I just got me a new Kodak ESP 5250 AiO wireless printer. I installed the printer without the Kodak software and it prints wireless just fine, but unfortunatelly I don't get the scan function to work. In my printer overview the thing is only listed as a printer - no scanning available. The manual has no instructions for a use without the Kodak software but I really don't want to use it.
Does anybody have a clue how I could get that thing to give me a scan without cables?

I'm only talking about wireless scanning here, being connected via USB scanning also works.

You may need to add the device (also) as a scanner? (Dunno, I don't have a scanner or such a multi-function printer.) Also, to be able to scan, I think the "Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)" service must be running. Just some ideas...

Thanks for the quick answer, Joe.
The WIA service is running already, otherwise a USB-scan wouldn't possible, would it?
Do you have an idea how to add that wireless scanner manually to Windows 7? If I choose "Add device" from the "Printer & devices" (sorry, not working with an english os so names are tricky) I get a typical control panel window saying "Choose the device you want to add." and underneath that "Looking for devices...make sure the device can be found." There is nothing I can do, nothing to click...
