seek help with jpeg file

Hi everyone. I need some assistance on how one can convert a bitmap file into a jpeg file? I have tried with photobucket but I'm confused on what to do. I'm no expert in this field. Help in guiding me step by step through the process would be of much appreciation.

use microsoft paint
open the bmp, save as jpeg.. incredibly simple

i also have the feeling you might be a bot...

Thank you but I can reassure you I'm not a bot. Why would you think that? I think a bot would put up links to sites that give viruses or advertise, not request for help.

some bots make posts like yours, then 'follow' up with big posts on how to do things, with screenshots , adverts etc

though, from your response, i can see you're not one of those, so thanks for clarifying that

if you're running windows 2000 or higher, the conversion is simple
start->run->pbrush

microsoft paint then loads, open the bitmap, then save as and select jpeg from the save type in the dialog.. job done
