Question about extracting, encoding and rebuilding ".usm" files.

Hi all,

Before I ask my question I just want to give some background information in-case my method is incorrect.

Currently using VGMToolbox to extract the .m2v & .adx files from "Batman: Arkham City" ".usm" files which are (as far as I can tell) the file container type for storing the game's pre-rendered cut-scenes.

I used the "PES Sound File Converter v1.8" to convert the .adx to .wav (to tell which were non-english audio tracks, as I am not interested in encoding the audio).

I used "Adobe Media Encoder" to encode the .m2v to .mpg (MPEG2), and while it appears to be corrupted, based on other users previous posts I'm not sure that this is the case.

My issue now is that I'm unsure how to rebuild the file container and put the encoded .mpg & selected .adx files into a .usm file container.

I believe fitgirl may have used a similar method in her repack of the title, as .mpg video files are present during the initial installation phase, and are playable, but are then converted into .usm file containers during a later stage of installation.

I'm only asking for assistance with turning the extracted files back into the source container type, I'm confident I can figure out how to encode the videos without being a burden and asking for help with that.

Thank you for taking the time to read this post, any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hey all,

Currently having a bit of bother getting the main .adx files to play nice with scaleform, when attempting to put the encoded .avi and extracted .adx files back into a .usm container. Converting the .adx to .wav using a variety of tools yields only corrupted .wav, if anyone's got some tips I'd greatly appreciate any insight anyone can offer.

WACUP and the ChipAmp plugins were recommended by another user, however I'm unable to play the "main" .adx files (other extracted .adx are non-english dubbings). I'm beginning to suspect my extraction method via VGM Toolbox may producing corrupt .apx files for "Batman: Arkham City" as the two "main" .adx files are identical in file size (though differ when comparing checksums).
