Arthur's Knights - Origins of Excalibur - No CD Fix

I've got, "Arthur's Knights - Origins of Excalibur" a win 95/98 game, that wont run on xp. I've tried the compatibility mode (95 + 98), but all I get either way is the same pop-up every time, "Please insert Arthur's Knights disc 1" (this is with disc 1 in the drive). Even if I put the disc in and wait for it to autorun, I get a box pop-up saying "play" or "exit" Clicking play does not work either
Anybody know a way round this?
Cheers Paulos
