Unhappy King of Fighters 2002 problem

I am having a problem with King of Fighters 2002. All of the characters shadows in the game flicker and are made up of seperated lines. Now I know this is only a minor annoyance but I would just like to know if someone knows how to fix this. I live in the US and I am using an NTSC version of Dreamcast respectively. King of Fighters is a japanese game and as far as I know the japanese also use NTSC. Is this correct? I thought about using the PAL patchers but then i realized that I don't have a PAL Dreamcast........would it still help me with my problem? I just wanna make sure before I create a bunch of coasters Thank you in advance for your help

lol and I thought it was a problem with the way I burned the game (it was my first time ever burning a dreamcast game). I have never seen the arcade game so I had no idea. Thank you for your help though

Yes. I tried PAL Patch 2.
The game doesn't seem to boot anymore after applying the patch.
("Sega" -> black screen -> nothing)

nope...

Can't get it to work.

Used (as always) v1.1

Patched PAL Protection 2 and 3 -> doesn't boot

Only Patchted PAL Protection 2 -> same

Me -> resigned

Maybe i'm just too stupid or something... bleh
