doom 3 demo leaked
wow does anybody knew this
Doom III demo leaked Posted by Dean Monnox on 04/11/2002 Online forum Slashdot was bombarded with posts over the weekend about the leak of the Doom III pre-alpha demo. Series creator and uber-developer John Carmack stated, "This was not leaked on purpose. Yes, we are upset about it, and it will have some impact on how we deal with some companies in the future, but nothing drastic is going to change in terms of what support is going to be available. Making any judgements from a snapshot intended for a non-interactive demo is ill advised." There has been no confirmation of exactly where the leaked software came from, but it's thought to be a high profile company that id is working with - and at least one graphics chip manufacturer has been repeatedly mentioned in relation to the event. The very early build of the game, which reports suggest weighs in at about 380MB compressed, has to be fiddled with but does at least work, showcasing the various enemies and the amazing architectural and lighting effects that id have used in Doom III. Although it's an early version of the game and it appears to have extremely high system requirements, the release is unlikely to do Doom III any serious harm with the majority of posts by those naughty warez downloaders who have downloaded it have commenting on how incredible the game looks. |

Yes my bad on the alpha/beta crap. Having just tried to play it again (getting 3fps max when a zombie appears), this thing shouldnt even be called alpha. Perhaps an interactive slideshow.
But no point in dissing a product that we should'nt even be playing at the mo. Graphics = WOW!
