Canīt get audio in gta3 when using nocd crack

I have zipped a nocd crack into the Gta 3 game folder and it works, but there is almost no sound, i have also copied the Audio folder from disc 2 onto the game folder, but i still donīt get any sound. before i zipped the nocd crack onto the gta 3 game folder i changed the name of the audio, folder that was already there, to "audio-". So when i discovered that there was no sound, i changed it back to "audio", and then the game requiered the disc again. then i changed it back to "audio-" and again, the crack worked but there was still no sound.

How can i have sound and be able to play the game with the nocd crack ?

( i have Windows Millenium and my gta3 version is 1.0 and so is the crack)

I would really appreciate some help

Start by copying the files under "Audio" on your cd2 to the audio subdirectory on the hard disk, you've got to have both sets of files in the same directory. You seem to have two audio subdirectories with different names, the files have to be in the same directory and with the "Audio" name. Next step : update to v1.1 to fix some bugs, you can find a nocd for that version here. Maybe everything will work with your v1.0 crack, but I would update anyway to be certain, v1.1 removes the safedisc 2 copy protection so the 1.1 nocd only needs to disable a cd check.

Let's try again, with EASY steps.

1) Uninstall GTA3, copy your savegames somewhere save then delete the GTAIII directory
2) Reinstall from the original disc 1
3) Insert disc 2
4) select all files in the "audio" subdirectory on disc 2 and copy them to the SAME subdirectory under the installation directory, e.g. "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTAIII\audio". This is very important, stop renaming directories, you need both the files that were already in that directory and all the files in the same directory on disc 2. Understood ? If everything goes right, you'll now have about 662 Mb of files in the "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTAIII\audio" directory on your hard disk.
5) Apply the official 1.1 patch, this will fix some bugs and now you only need a backup cd in the drive.
6) Now first try and see if the game runs ok, you can apply the nocd later.
7) (optional) copy the nocd for v1.1 over to "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\GTAIII\" to play without a cd.

Follow ALL of these steps to the letter and all should be ok. If you have any problem, tell me what you did with each step. DO NOT just skip steps. AND USE the ORIGINALS.
