Warcraft III working Image

I have managed to write a successful image to my HD of my original WC3 cd using Alcohol 120%. (SecuROM NEW v4.x) I used the suggested settings for both reading/writing of the image.

When mounted to the AXV virtual drive it loads and runs fine just like the original disk was inserted.

Here is the problem,

When I burn the image to a CD-R, I will get 2 errors 1 says the image is currupted and needs to be downloaded again??

OR I get the notorious CDROM is not in the drive error.

I burned the RMPS data to the CD-R so of course I had to check the option in Emulation for RMPS.

There is an option that was NOT checked when I burned the image called Rectify Sub-Channel Data. I don't if this has any bearing on the write process.

At least I am able to make a working image.

Any suggestions for burning the image would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

War Craft III is protected by SafeDisc 4.8 so you need to activate the SafeDisc settings in Alcohol and not SecuRomNew. To burn a working CD-R you need a burner which writes EFM correctly.

GLH is on a distinguished road
Spielemikroskop - you are wrong.
WarCraft III (I've the german version) isn't protected with SafeDisc. And there don't existst a Safedisc Version 4.8 !!!

WC3 is protected with Securom *New (not the Securom *New 4.8 !!!).

So if your writer can read/write SubChannel Data you will be able to create a real 1:1 clone copy !!!

Backup works but not 1:1 :)

Ok so I followed what you guys posted here. Strange there is no such thing as SafeDisc v4.8....2.8 maybe cause C&C generals uses that.

Anyway I used SecuROM New* settings wrote the image and mounted it on the AXV virtual drive. It worked fine.

When I went to burn the image to a CD-R I clicked on 'Rectify Sub-Channel Data' and burned the image.

At first when I ran the backup the 'Insert CD error' message would flash on and off as it was trying to read the data.

Hmmm....I went into Extra emulation options in Alcohol and checked the box 'Sub-Channel Fixed & Emulation' for SecuROM.

I tried it again and the backup worked perfectly. Unfortunately I don't think it will work on a system unless it has Alcohol installed because of the emulation for SecuROM.

Hell I'm happy at least I can play on my LAN now with 2 computers and not have to worry about downloading stupid
no-cd cracks everytime a new version comes out!

Thanks guys you were a LOT of help.
