Madden 06 display issues

The other week i finally bought madden 06 for the pc. I installed it, updated it, and then loaded it up. There are a few problems......

1: The opening video is really choppy when i run the game in full screen, but, when i open it in window mode, it runs fine.......are there any fixes to this, aside from always starting in window mode, then Alt+Enter?

2: Some of the text, in game......is not there. The last slot in the main menu, with credits, is blank....when i click the help icon, all i get is some red triangle...when i go to configure my controller all the commands under passing are not there, so i dont know what im setting to which button.

When I open EAsy Info, there are (!) next to my display device and display driver, but everything else has a green check.

1.3ghz athlon
600 something ram
128 geforce4 ti 4200

My cousin told me to update my video card drivers, so i did, to 8.1.9.8 and i also upgraded to directX 9.0c, but i am still having both of those problems. Does anyone know of a solution to fix this?
