Conversion Procedures

OK i'll give a list of the Conversion Procedures..
i followed Freeman intructions & i made 3 ISO's of the game.
i used the label TUROK for all the Disks
& i edited the Autorun.inf in Disks 2 & 3 by deleting the "run=Autorun.exe"
I mount all the ISO's & i install the game without any problem..
the order of the inserted disks was 1-2-3-1 (the original game goes 1-2-1)
the installation finished perfectly .. but when i search for the game shortcut
i found only the uninstallation shortcut..so i just copy the executable into the
game directory (bin) .. I started from there the game & works perfectly..
So the only problem in this conversion is only this ..

hope i help

Yeah Valid point I forgot to mention..When making dvd2 & dvd3 UltraISO doesnt start up in UDF mode I had to select it manually..& updated the first post to say about using TUROK as the volume labels for all 3 disk backups

I had the same problem, but I solve it makeing the ISO images with Nero 8 in UDF mode!

Turok 2xdvd9 To 3xdvd5 english only
size of three dvd's = near 11274 mb
not only english but biggest language deleted [FRA, ITA, DEU, ESN]

1) Copy both dvd9 to Temp folder, name it 'Turok Disc'
[dont overwrite any files]
2) Download package:
Turok_Eng_.rar
extract to 'Turok Disc' , replace all.
3) Go to 'Turok Disc\setup' and Double click on dvd9to2xdvd5.bat
NOTE:
need near 12gb free space on partition where is 'Turok Disc' folder.
4)After cmd close and new cab's created
[size 4GB for data2.cab, data3.cab and near 2740MB for data4.cab]
Double click on CLEAN_.bat
[that file delete not needed files and two folders created by iscab]

Creating image /burning on rw's [not r] - test before burn
5)For disc1:
Make image with contents of 'Turok Disc' [out temp folder] with label 'Turok Disc 1' [or any other]
except files in 'setup' folder:
data3.cab
data4.cab

5)For disc2:
before you create image need some changes :
- rename disk1.txt to disk2.txt [that files in main folder of temp and in setup folder] , both must be renamed.
Using the Notepad open the autorun.inf file and edit as shown below then Save it:
Code:
[autorun]
OPEN=0
ICON=setup\media\Turok.ico
Make image with contents of 'Turok Disc' [out temp folder] with label 'Turok Disc 2' [or any other]
except files in 'setup' folder:
data2.cab
data4.cab

6)For disc3:
before you create image need some changes :
- rename disk2.txt to disk3.txt [that files in main folder of temp and in setup folder] , both must be renamed
autorun.inf - already modified.
Make image with contents of 'Turok Disc' [out temp folder] with label 'Turok Disc 3' [or any other]
except files in 'setup' folder:
data2.cab
data3.cab

installation seq 1 2 3 end
NOTE:
when you change something in image [iso] never save to the same file - use save as and save in new file or you may get catastrofic error or something similar with this image that you reedit.
------------
what I fix in install.ini to get installation seq 1 2 3 end not 1 2 3 1 end
';' mean not used for installer [its comment]
Code:
; Swap back to disk 1
;1=CDSWAP, 1
1=CDSWAP, 3
additional
Code:
[ADVANCED DIALOGS]
;License=1
License=0
and ofcourse can be few additional changes
it's really nice installer problematic but can be edited.

edit
links refreshed, always available on cd-2-dvd.com

There is two layout.bins for making 4gb cabs circulating here, one is from rainbow six vegas and other one isn't from specific game and only includes common setup files (this is what i usually use) and can be found atleast in ISCab14 which i uploaded for vegas 2.

Might be a good idea to use only that other layout.bin cause recently lots of people are asking about those vegas files in layout.bin

Mondragons works fine for the English version.
Nice that it ends installation still on Disc 3 (no need to go back to disc 1). Plus has plenty of free space to have any updates, if any ever come (likely).

Write disc 3 as a multisession so you can add things later.

Thanks to Mondragon... and also to Freeman for his inputs/work too!

simpler conversion - more automatic
1) download, extract
Code:
links with disk2 fixed
turok_3xdvd5-disk2fixed.rar
2)copy dvd1 and dvd2 to extracted folder 'Turok9' - dont replace any file
3)go to folder 'Turok9' and run :
dvd9to2xdvd5.bat - for full backup
eng_only.bat - to leave only english language
wait for closing window, you get dataX.cab with size 2154 MB [Thanks ravd]
4)After repacks eding go to folder with files 1.bat 2.bat... and run file:
1.bat, 2.bat, 3.bat
that bat files move/copy files belongs to specific dvd
5)Size of folder for english conversion:
dvd1=4465 MB
dvd2=4465 MB
dvd3=2472 MB
6)Now run files to create udf iso: [created by cdimage] [run and wait to finish/close]
dvd1_create.bat - to create dvd1
dvd2_create.bat
dvd3_create.bat
or you can create iso/burn on rw disc in any other applications
I use label 'Turok_1', 'Turok_2', 'Turok_3' - but thats not important
7)Before burn test in deamon tools or similar progs, for me works great

NOTE:
because we create smaller cabs we have more cab files - thats why installer dont asks for disc2 but for disc3 [then insert disc2] and for disc5 [insert disc3].
installation seq dvd1-dvd2-dvd3

Thanks Freeman100 , work 100%
To avoid error at disk 2 (data3.cab error) , you must set UDF mode.

Holy good god! That took all day to get this to 3 DVDS. Thanks Freeman, post#1, it worked. I had to redo it though because all my ISO were not in UDF format.
