Angry Extreme Black Box compression - how ?

Welcome my friends!

Currently working on a repack of Far Cry 4.
I noticed that the Black Box released his repack of this game, which is 12.4GB. My question is: how the hell is it possible?

The game normally takes about 25GB after removing unnecessary language (other than English). I spend almost a third day on this game and I was able to pack it to the size of about 18GB. Game files are not susceptible to PRECOMP, so I use compression SREP + lzma.

Can someone explain to me how they were able to get such a small size?

Look in "C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\" localize temporary files of setup to know their methode.
If you want to remove English, to keep only French example, you will have to rename like this: fcc_main_french.dat to fcc_main_english.dat after having everything rename, simply add the registry key corresponding for your language:
Root: HKC U; SubKey: Softw are \ Ubi soft \ FarCr y4 \ 420; ValueType: string; ValueName: Langu age; ValueData: fr-FR; Flags: uninsdeletevalue uninsdeletekeyifempty

Sorry for my bad English

I removed already foregin languages and kept only english files. And know also about registry keys.

I Have installed parallel version RELOADED (I repack based on this version) and the BlackBox. I removed unnecessary files and they take exactly the same size as the version of BB, and yet repack BB is much better compressed.

During the installation of BB repack, can't see anything interesting in the temporary folder (see attachment file). By default, SREP PRECOMP and Unarc files.

So what does this mean? That their repack was compressed using PRECOMP and SREP? But I checked each file using PRECOMP and none were susceptible to its effects (.pcf file had the same size, hasn't increased).

I'm convinced that the devil is in the compression commands, but I don't know them

Any ideas? Anyone?

I do not have the setup version, but what I see, I can tell that it uses precomp 0.38 packjpg, after you have properly selected the files for precomp.

Ok, let it be banned. Just trying to understand the compression method used in the repack and I don't see anything wrong with that ....

So let's focus on the problem ...

There are many newbies who read the post, unload the box in question take the risk of a virus just to figure out the compression method, for this you can understand that it is not good to give examples with black box repack that you already downloaded to your pC reading the screen ... just saying. you can have a repack of Far Cry 4 18GB, I would say (it even much less) do it this way.

_EZEKiEL_ No problem you just responded to a comment my friend

I don't want to forget, but to understand this method of compression.
Please don't spam meaningless posts - concrete answers related to the first post ....

Try this method:
Code:
For Srep+Rep+Exe+Delta+Lzma+Arc Only
-msrep+rep:512mb+exe+delta+lzma:1gb:273:ht4:mc512

Nope, the output file is even slightly larger than using the standard commands:
Code:
-msrep+delta+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d158m:fb273:mc1000:lc8
I ran a little test and I noticed two things.

In the attached screenshots on the left side is my sample file, and on the right side original file from BB repack (I omit the issue of the size of the input file - this is just a sample).

In the first screenshot, in my case, we can see significantly lower average of blocksize 122MB compared to BB 12GB file. How can I increase the size of blocksize ??

In the second screenshot you can see that I used the same method of compression, but in the case of BB you see two types of compression: Storing (posit. Size 0, compress. 0 ???) and then use the method of SREP + lzma. Someone can explain it to me ??

bsize -s12gb

why the hell do so much confusion that does not help, you have opted for options like: audio resampling, resampled video, languages, and so on.
do you think these guys are geniuses (you are wrong) maybe read many tutorials on the functions and methods of conversion or maybe they have their own deck, perhaps playing yugioh

Thank you for this switch - will check it tomorrow.

I did it! Finally, after many attempts I managed to compress this game to repack the BB size, and more! My folder was about 1GB bigger (25.8GB), and I managed to compress it to 12.9GB - 0.2GB less than BB repack! Yeyyyy!

It seems that compression using SREP is more effective when we use it on a SINGLE LARGE file, rather than smaller packets of data. So first compress the entire folder with the game using 7z or arc (can't remember), without the compression level and then I treated this large single file with the SREP. It gave me the final file size 12.9GB.

The riddle was, at least partially, solved

And now there is another problem, but with this I invite you to THIS topic

Try this methode:
arc a -lc8 -ep1 -ed -r -w.\ "Data.bin" -msrep+lzma:a1:mfbt4:d158m:fb273:mc1000:lc8 "G:\Far Cry 4 - Gold Edition"

25GB ==> 12,8GB
