Magic 3 Issues and Magic 3.1

Hi guys,


Now some of you may be aware of the problems the Magic 3 is having freezing with certain games (Vice city/ffx international and kingdom hearts)
Because of this the china magic team have produced what is being called the magic 3.1. to resolve these issues. Now the below information was emailed from the china-magic team to a trusted reseller and the information has been forwarded onto me.

The fixing in Magic 3.1 :
-freeze issue with games such as kingdom hearts/vice city(all known titles have been tested and work 100% with magic3.1)

-cdr booting problem has been corrected. 100% boot rate now available

-No issue with dvdr booting on ver7 machines was found. This has been put down to some ver7 machines having dodgy laser units. (Something i'm sure charlie_ps2 has touched on be4)

- Overheating issues and placement issues have not been found. Suggested not to place wires either through, or around the resonator.

Along with this 2 new features have been added which are very similar to the messiah 2!

Support for 010 bios and the ability to turn off the magic 3.1. (push and hold reset until sony screen appears.

I hope some of you find this information as interesting as I did. Although i can imagine some people not being happy!

Many sites will continue to sell the 3.1 until stocks are empty before advertising the 3.1. However many magic official resellers are already advertising the 3.1

few mates got this and no problems ,

sure dude,
The magic 3 consists of only 4 items,
If you look at the chip, (I'm doing this from memory :S) upright so smily at bottom

You have the Ubicom chip (the Big Black 1)
30kOhm resistor (Top Left)
Resonator (Top Center)
and cap (Top left)

So basically what i think they're getting at is to keep wires away from the chipsets.
