321 studios game x copy

Ok I bought a samsung 616T dvd drive for my xbox plays all formats and backups of all games even emulators but need a program to copy my xbox collection. There are all these programs Game x Copy by 321 Studios, DVD Wizard Pro ETC. That say will copy xbox games disk just insert game dvd click copy and insert blank dvd. Do any of these work they cost around $50 USD each. I read all the read here posts, but I don't have a mod chip as I didn't want to install a mod chip found the drive way easier.

Thanks

By using the drive only you will not be able to play backups.
In order to play backups you must either chip or use a softmod.

About backing up games:
FTP to your xbox (requires softmod or chip) and transfer the files to your pc. Make an iso using Craxtion or Qwix, then burn with Nero or whatever.
Backing up games with the PC (using the DVD-drive) may work sometimes but most often not. So no need to waste 50$ on any ****ty program.

Hi ya my samsung drive was bought pre-modded to read all those writeable formats. I know that regular drives won't read without mod chips.

The thing is not wether the drive can read the disc or not. Rather the fact that the xbox can execute unsigned code without modding.

Whenever you create a backup of a game the encryption of the disc becomes invalid. Thats why you need a chip or softmod that will fool this encryption and make the game run.

Changing reader will only result in that the drive can READ all format but NOT USE them. Music, originial games and original DVD's will work fine though.

So changing DVD-reader will not let you play backups, rather make backups more compatible if the xbox is chipped or softmodded.

I hope that was a little more clear and explained it better to you.

If you can play backups on your xbox it is either chipped or softmodded. The DVD-rom itself can't make backups work "magically". BUT the good thing with the samsung is that it is the best reader for the xbox and can read CD-r's aswell with no problems at all.

Yeah....I would say dont be fooled...But ...Too Late......

YOu need to MOD the xbox in some fashion...Whether it be with a chip or software. And there is NO PROGRAM that will copy an xbox game. YOu have to ftp to the computer, burn an iso then burn to disc. The drive you bought is premodded to WORK in the xbox. It will not play games any better than any other drive that comes standard in the box. Read the first couple stickys in this forum and you should be good to go. Look up Evox also...Some chips allow you to ftp via the chip, like the Xenium Ice Solderless also.

Install chip or softmod
Transfer game to computer or xbox...whichever you want
burn disc or play from HDD....

Oops...I started writing this thread and then minimized the window a little and forgot all about it....So I repeated myself a little......

You say the drive reads your BACKUPS.....Backups of what...Movies...Music....
You can not play backups if you have not modded the box.....Period.
Is it your box? Did you buy it premodded or something?
