ClonyXXL v2.0.0.6 unaficial english version..quick question inside
Hi all..I am browsing through the forum again and i came across a link to the unaficial english version of clonyXXL v2.0.0.6
This was posted in a thread called "Clone cd vs nocd patch" My question is this, i have clonyXXL v2.0.0.6 installed allready and while i find it extremly easy to use i cant read the text as its in German. Now i am intrested in haveing the English version but i only have a 56k modem and the english version is much bigger than the german (MBs) The German version is 949KBs and the English version is 2.15MBs. Normaly i would just download it anyway and find out for myself if all the text is in english and if this unaficial english version works as well as the Official German version. Has anyone else got the English version installed and if so is all the text in English and dose it have all the same features as the German version and if it dose,dose it work as well as the German version?? Are you referring to this thread? I changed the link in the second message to the newest version of ClonyXXL, 2.0.1.1a. Unfortunately, the makers of ClonyXXL seem to have decided not to support generating a CloneCD profile anymore. This means that ClonyXXL will still identify the copy protection used but now you'll have to put the correct settings in CloneCD yourself. This new ClonyXXL 2.0.1.1a version is of the size you mentioned. ClonyXXL 2.0.0.6 will still generate the CloneCD profile, but it will not identify the latest protections. So if you want to use it to automatically configure CloneCD for a certain protection, you'll need ClonyXXL 2.0.0.6. Here is a link to the English version of ClonyXXL 2.0.0.6. I checked it today and the link will work and is only 700Kb. Remember : the big version is the latest one, but that will not generate ClonyXXL profiles anymore.

Rince, that's helpful to know, and is a rather important fact.
Why are they doing that? It would seem that clonecd should allow this feature in all their versions of product, but obviously they must be afraid of litigation from the big companies, even though here in the U.S. it is lawful to be able to make a back-up of your cd. Why clonyxxl's programmer(s) are doing this is really puzzling! Rather Interesting.... Dave S.

I think the programmers are german, and Germany, like the rest of the European Union will be implementing stricter copyright laws in the future. I think the programmers are just trying to keep their tool fully legal.

Ok thanks for taking the time to reply to my question and as a reslut i was able to find out what i need ie

So in your answere that makes me belive it was a question worth asking and without your reply i wouldnt of know wich version would auto configure clone.. and as a result i am now downloading a different version due to you link and infomation so once again thank you Also zedy is this not the place to come and learn?? and how are people like myself (not hardcore members) who dont have tons of experience find out what we need to no..I diddnt doubt the wiz's integrity on this? and if you read my post again you will see that i mentioned he is a hard core member and thanked him for posting a link to the download, and also i am guesing Rincewind the wiz diddnt think it to be a stupid question or my guess is he wouldnt of been so helpfull in his replie...Mabey you diddnt understand my question or thought i should allready no what rincewind the wiz replied..
