Question Unpatched Sims and Expansion Packs

I have the unpatched version of The Sims. Is it possible to run the expansion pack (hot date) from the original expansion pack CD?

What do you exactly mean with "unpatched version of The Sims" ?

Do you mean, you have installed The Sims from your original cd and don't copy in a crack.
If YES, the Expansion HotDate will work from your original cd.

What a question?

When I got The Sims. I didnt install it directly from the CD. I put all the files on my hard drive and ran it from there without using the installation process. So, I was asking if there was a way to run the expansion pack without having the original Sims CD.

Thanks in advance

(Can't see any reason why you have done that )

If you really don't have the original The Sims CD anymore, you can't install the Expansion.
If you have the original The Sims CD, first re-install The Sims, and then the Expansion.
