X2 - The Threat. Can't create virtual image.

I have just got my copy of "X2 - The Threat", which is an Australia copy. The problem is, that it's protected with f***ing StarForce 3, which is all but impossible to play from a virtual image.

I hear that the North American version might not be using StarForce 3. So, if an American gamer has a copy of X2, could they scan their game disks and see what protection is used, I'd appreciate the info.

If the American version does not use StarForce, I might return my Australian copy and buy an American one.
