Problems with burned DVD5`s

Hiho , I hope this is the right thread... so I have got some problems...I made several conversions now from DVD9 to DVD5 and I also burned games which where already from DVD5 Image format but it never worked... I wasted now 6 DVDs like that and I dont really know what the problem is...(games are all working properly) I also installed ISOBuster and all files were shown on the DVD but when I insert them into drive it shows me they`re empty and the burning dialogue pops up....
Before all was still working right - the burned DVDs worked but just since a week ago I was having those problems.... no burned dvd could be recognized anymore... so does anybody know these problems and can help me ???

PS: I also converted different movie-formats into DVD and burned them and it also couldnt be played neither on PC nor on DVD-Player... thats really sad (

Pentium IV 3GHz 1 GB Ram
ATI Radeon 9800XT
Windows XP Home Service Pack 2

I was using TEVION DVD+R 4,7GB ... maybe can it be that some dvds arent manufactured right? But thats odd ..cause it would then be already 6 broken dvds what I dont think...

Tevion media isnt all that good..What is happening is your drive isnt writing the TOC on each disk properly..TOC = Table Of Contents...basically without this the DVD will appear blank to windows...

Suggestions would be Uninstall all your writing software & download IMGBurn 2.4.1.0 from the net..& burn one of the images again using 6x writing & have check disk after writing enabled just to check for errors...

DO not use the media you are using now..Go get a blank of a mate or try to buy some new disks..I would suggest using Ritek g05 dyes if you can get hold of them..or if not CMC mag or sony dye...

Try that & post back any error report from IMGBurn..

Another suggestion would be to buy a decent writer..Pioneer dvr212 or similar..cost about £17..That version is the Sata150...

I hadnt time to get new dvdr`s yet so I wasted one TEVION again.... I can remember it once worked normally with TEVION DVDR`s so maybe any chance it could be just a software problem?
I chose 2,4x burning speed for better performance... :/

I have a PIONEER DVD RW DVR-106D burning drive...

Tevion (or Medion) is not even mentioned at http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm; it must be inferior material.

Tevion is a well known Trademark here in Germany ( dont know if its in the USA or so...)
look here:
http://www.dvdboard.de/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=121

I bought those DVDs in Aldi-mart (discounter) ...I `ll never again buy those DVDs
I googled about Tevion DVD+R`s and there were no bad critics about tevion dvds -- http://www.ciao.de/Tevion_DVD_R_4_7__1198451

ImgBurn is the Best. you can PAUSE the burning process while your burning.

Right there is a problem with your writers Memory..from a Mobo point of view..This is of course an educated guess..Check in your hardware properties that the writer your using isnt conflicting with another device..

What I would try is unplug all your ROMS & make sure your writer is set to Master & plug it onto a cable all of its own & then try the burn again @ full speed..If the disks allow for 4x buring then do it at 4x...not 2.4...

... and buy one rewritable DVD and experiment with that, too.

ok I now tested the burning on another PC which has exactly the same DVD drive as I have and it worked perfectly... I tested them with TEvion again and no problems... I think I will do a driver or firmware update and then try it again...
I buy DVD RW next time although I had very often problems to erase them again...
