Question Super Audio CD?

Hi all!

I've got a little question.

I have just get a bootleg from a trade, and I can't play the show in my PC. And of course, if I want to make a backup (the brand of the CDR is very bad and I wanted to backup the Audio on a CDR from Verbatim or TDK)

I know that it has 8 tracks (the first CD) and it's a 80 minutes CD (well, I believe), but the display in my discman indicate a one track with 1:28 timing.

Well, I have been looking for this kind of protection. At the begining I though it was Key2Audio, but after searching more about it, I have found that might be probably a Super Audio CD (in the back cover you can read something like "The Audio Super Mastering") recording.

Somebody could help me?

Thank you very much.

Talking

Thanks for the info.

And now, how do I could make a backup from that CD?
Is it possible with a one year old CD-Recorder?

I'm thinking about make a copy with the Analogic to Digital typical record method. And then cut the tracks. It's a very bad option, but. if there is no other way....

Thanks again.

Thanks for the answers.

I tried to make a CloneCD (version 4) image, and created a 18 Kbytes file, these are just the kilobytes proportional to 1:28 timing that you see on the display of a Hi-Fi CD player or discman.

If I take a look to the structure of the CD (using CDRWin 4.0), I see 8 tracks, first of music and the other unknown. And, of course, there is no posibility to make an image.

Okey, I will try Clony XXL... it's for detecting which protection has this CDR, isn't it? And I will try to use Nero, to see what happens.

Thanks again.

I'm now very convinced that the only way is conecting my discman or Hi-Fi to my PC through audio jacks (analogic... ). Logically, I will loose all the digital quality... but, if I'm sincere, it's not an studio recording, it's an audience bootleg, and I'm sure that this loose of quality won't be listenable, because of the fans shouting and singing along with the band.

Yes, like packer has said, the CD seems to have Key2Audio protection. ClonnyXXL says also that.

But when I launch CloneCD from the ClonnyXXL window, and try to create an image from the CD using the configuration stablished by ClonnyXXL, it only saves on my HD an 18Kbytes image file.

With Nero, I can't create an image.

The information from the CD is:

One session with:

1 audio track (4 seconds long)
7 data tracks (600bytes each one except last one that it has 18Kbytes)

Funny stuff.

See you, and thanks again.

You can tell Clony to set up Clone CD for whatever protection. Goto CCD Settings on the menu bar then select your desired protection from there.
