Question Using a patch (I'm a newbie!!)

Have tried to copy MY copy of Mission Impossible (PSX1). It works fine during the credits but when the game begins, it just hangs!
It is a "protected" game so I have downloadede the patch for the program .... NOW, how do I use/install the patch to overcome my problem?
1. Do I have to create a game image first and copy the patch to that file?
2. Do I copy the PSX CD to disk and then copy the patch to that?

When I try to use the patch, it says it is a System file! What do I do??

Help please!!

Patching

I'm kind of a newbee as well, but here's a quicky to patching

firstly you need to have a copy of CDrWin

What you do is then use the Extract disc to a file on hard drive
do this at a slow speed (They say 8x, but 2x is the max i use)
you need a patcher program that you can download from

http://www.megagames.com/psx/psx_utils.shtml

as you've got the patch downloaded it should be just a case
of using he patch program on the bin file created

once done, all you do is use the record option on CDrwin, clicking
on the Load cue sheet and find the file you've created. burn it at
a slow speed (normally 1X), and that should be everything sorted
out
