Exclamation GTA3 rip making a lot of noise! help!

Hey People,

I got a question, is GTA3 supposed to make a lot of noise when playing?

My other backups are a little noisy (by noisy, i don't mean loud or grinding noises or anything, just louder that an orig. dvd game).

It seems to be making two noises, one is the disc spinning and changing speed, and the other is a sort of scraping noise, i think the laser.

Is this really bad for the system, does anyone elses do it?

I have a neokey (i know, i need a messiah), are these known for causing laser damage?

Any help or feedback will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

your problem is using swap method
ps2 lines up laser to read origanal dvd then u swap for the cdr backup (ps2 does not know u done this)its now reading the cdr but set read origanal dvd u used

every dvd the ps2 laser would adjust to a slightly diff position for optinum reading, dvd to cdr position would b a much greater difference

actually for GTA 3, it's "normal" cause the file order is messed up, so the laser unit has to move ALOT to get all data needed. it's an exceptionally "loud" game, and I would recommend buying the original or at least get a DVD copy of it, they run alot quieter.

Are either of these two reasons listed above the causes of laser damage, hence i should stop playing the game immediatly, or is it not that big of a deal?

(btw, thanks for helping. it's have to find good personal help on the net!!!)

This cannot be right dust,

The AR2V2 disc i use is CD format. Unless the laser is having difficulty reading CDR's, and must re-focus between Original CD and CDR formats, i don't think that's the problem.

the loads of laser movement are unusual (as in, compared to other games), so the mechanical wear is higher of course. but unless you play the game 10 hours a day for weeks, it won't cause that much harm.

Talking GTA3 Cdr

Cdr backups of dvd games mess your system up mate. I've modded a lot of machines and the units have left fine but when using cdr rips of dvd games within time the lasers mess up.

Just get a dvd burn of the game and at least then you'l be playin without worries.

Cheers
