General Backup Problem: 2 or more CD game on 1 DVD
Hey!
Hope, somebody can help ![]() I want to make a backup of a game that has in original CD 1 and CD 2 on a DVD. I'll use a crack, so the game will work. So i copied the 2 CD via Win Explorer on my HDD. When i try to install the game from Harddisk (or later from selfmade DVD) there is the following problem i don't know how to solve: I start setup, the install process starts and then at about 50% i am ask to insert disk 2 although disk 2 is already copied on my HDD (or DVD). What can i do to install for example from hdd oder from an selfmeade dvd??? thx for help! |

You can make a 1 DVD for NFSU !!!
There is a file named "FILELIST.TXT" on CD1. Copy all files from both CDs (start with CD2) to a empty folder on your HD. Then edit the FILELIST.TXT. The are an entry for each file. The first number is the CD number. --> Scroll down until the first numbers are "2". Change it to "1".

What is this fuss all about? My DVDs are all filled to the brim with CDs. Not just CD 1 and CD 2, but as much games as I can push in it. And not a single problem. Just copy the bins and the cues and that's all. No matter which CD is needed you just load it in the Daemon tools or similar and that's all.

EA Games starts after the installation. So you need to rename the original SPEED.EXE to SPEED.EXE.ORG and put in (exactly where the original exe is) the cracked SPEED.EXE . So the cracked one will be installed.
And don't forget to make a full installation from this DVD !!! @Nope: Hi. Where do you get from all these bins & cues ?

Sorry, but I don't understand the question. Those are just the image files of the disks - if this is the question. EDIT: Well, it seems that this is the question indeed... SO: You do not copy on the CD the content of the disks itself, but instead you make image files - no matter what popular format you use - either bins or imgs or so on. Then you can write those CD images on the DVD. And tipical image file is around 700 MB (it's bigger then the CD itself), so you can backup on one DVD 6+ disks. When you wnat to install and oplay the game from the DVD, you just load the image file in a virtual CD Drive using a program like Daemon Tools or similar; then you install the game as normal, use crack and play. Hope this helps... if this is the question, of course:-) Last edited by Nope; 25-01-2004 at 05:19. |

I know how to make images of my CDs!
I was only asking, because it sounds A LITTLEBIT like downloaded bins&cues. I think each one use Alcohol120% or CloneCD4 to make images and then the normal format will not be bin&cue.

Anyway, be sure this is the perfect way to backup a lot of CDs on 1 DVD. |

GLH asked his question because 1) bin & cue is the main format for warez and 2) bin & cue are not good for backups because they cannot include extra copy protection data, for that you need a better format like clonecd (.cc), blindwrite (.bwt) or alcohol120% (.mdf). If you want to backup original discs, use one of the three previously mentioned programs to make images. Bin & cue can only be used if you also have cracks for the programs in question. I hope that clears up some misunderstanding.

This is the original question. It is not "how to copy copy- protected disks without using cracks" And to clarify too - maybe someone will have the wrong idea, that using a program like clone CD or Alcohol 120 is the only thing you need to copy protected CDs. If this was the case, I wonder why zillions of ignorant ppl are still proceding to use those annoying cracks ![]() |
