Battlefield 1942 1.31 No-CD Server Error
I have updated to Battlefield 1942 1.31 and applied the No-CD 1.31 files like I have done for all previous patches.
If I try to run a Win2K machine as a dedicated server (BF 1942 or Road to Rome) then I receive "DATA DIFFER FROM SERVER' errors from any WinXP client machines running the same 1.31 setup when they try to connect to the game. I can run a XP dedicated server and connect with XP clients but I cannot get a Win2K client to connect to the XP server either. This was never a problem before the 1.31 update. The game runs fine on Win2K, I just cannot connect to any WinXP machines or visa versa. Has anyone else encountered this problem or have any ideas on how to correct it? |

"DATA DIFFER FROM SERVER" means that often that the game find's out that U have a cracked version.
There has been reales several of times crack for LAN play and more on. So maybe U should what for awhile! |

If U have the original CD:s and a valid key (orignal CD key) there shouldn't be a problem.
If U got the original CD:s there is severial of options to run the game with out CD:s. And one options that may work with out CD:s and crack. Search in the search button "Deamon Tools" or go to www.go.to/gamesfix to read more about it |

I have multiple copies of the game but I use the No-CD cracks so that I do not have to find the CDs every time we play. I have been using the exact same setup ever since the initial release of the game. I run a Win2K dedicated server that a number of WinXP clients connect to. Everything has worked fine until the last 1.31 patch and No-CD crack.
If I run a WinXP dedicated server then I have no problem connecting with WinXP clients so I do not see how if could be a key issue. My Win2K machine cannot connect to the WinXP machine either. In fact I cannot even get my other Win2K machine now to connect to the first Win2K machine. I am guessing that it is a problem with the 1.31 game patch or the 1.31 No-CD crack. It does not seem to function correctly on Win2K machines. I am have no problems on my WinXP machines. |

The first version of the game 1.0 hasen't that protection.
Than there hase ben reales several of patches from EA games. Also it hase been reales several of patches to fix LAN games. 1.31 is very new. I have'nt see any LAN fixes. And I think EA games has done a tighter protection about that. So maybe that's why U can't play online with the game. Read my above post U can se how to make the game works If U have the original and U don't have to put in you CD or put a no-cd crack |

I'm kind of a newbie here but I've got BF installed, with the cd key etc and I upgraded to 1.31 and applied the NO-CD patch and when I go to start the game the screen goes black like its going to load, it beeps once, then returns to the desktop.
A friend of mine did basically the same and had the exact same result. Anyone else having a prob or is it just me? |

@ Thunberg,
There has been an insane amount of people ask your very question & as a suggestion the S E A R C H button - try typing in battlefield 1942 & read the numerous threads that raise your issue.... however go to this thread & read my 4th post. The problem is simply refresh rates..... @ jcahow..... format your Win2k machines & install XP .....

Back to this threads topic.........which is LAN playability with the new patch and no CD crack.....
I gave the new 1.31 patch a go and the game works fine single player with the 1.31 no CD hack. But with the no CD and a LAN crack so I can play on both of my PC's I get the same "DATA DIFFER FROM SERVER' error as mentioned above. I think EA has worked on this one a bit with the 1.31 patch to stop people from using the same game on two computers. I had to reinstall and go back to the 1.30 version/no CD/Lan crack and all is well again. I have the R2R expansion pack too and I am using Win ME. The problem may be in the 1.31 no CD, or the LAN crack, or smarter cheat protection by EA, or all of the above. If anyone figures it out let us know. Last edited by SubyRS; 15-03-2003 at 14:17. |

I just checked and there is a new v1.31 multi player no CD crack out now here at GCW. I am going to give it a try today.

I tired the new No-CD crack from Digital Mafia and I get the same server error. I was incorrect before in that I get the same error under both XP and Win2k. I thought before it just occured under Win2k but know I see that I cannot connect two XP machines either.

Well it sounds like EA has the game protected better with the 1.31 patch then. I'm sticking with the v1.3 then until I hear further. The game is working just fine anyway without the new patch.

I figured out the immediate 1.31 problem I was encountering. I did not realize that I needed to copy the BF1942.org file as well as the BF1942.exe file. Once I copied both files into the root directory of the game then everything worked fine.
Then I applied the new new map they just released (Aberdeen) to a couple of machines and now I am experiencing the same problem again on just those machines. I tried applying all the 1.31 No-CD files again but that did not solve the problem. The games on those machines start fine but cannot connect to each other. Has anyone else experienced problems with the new map? |
