Exclamation Battlefield 1942 DETAILED BURN GUIDE.

HOW TO BURN BATTLEFIELD 1942
=========================
(FOLLOW THESE INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY)

Go here and find your burner :
http://elby.ch/english/products/clone_cd/index.html

If it has NO symbols under "Buffer-underrun Technology" and "Correct EFM-Encoding"

Then you're outta luck. If however there's 2 symbols for each, you're SET!!

Step #1. Download CLONE CD from the link above (http://elby.ch)

Step #2. Download Clony XXL v2.0.0.6 [ENGLISH] here http://www.cdmediaworld.com/hardware..._2.shtml#Clony

Step #3. Install them both.

Step #4. Start Clony XXL with your BF1942_CD1 in your CD-ROM, click "Scan CD" then proceed and click "Start CloneCD"

Step #5. CloneCD will Start, click "READ TO IMAGE FILE"...Then you select "_ClonyXXL" Profile, click NEXT, save the .CCD file to any directory you want.

Step #6. Click "ok" . IT will take a while copy the entire CD to your harddrive as an image, so go have a beer or something..

Step #7. Put a CD-R into your CD Burner. Start up CloneCD --> Select "WRITE FROM IMAGEFILE"

Step #8. Browse and find the "BF1942_1.CCD" file you created.

Step #9. Click next, select the "_ClonyXXL" Profile again and then burn!

IMPORTANT :
----------------

There, so long as you have Buffer-Underrun Technology and Correct EFM-Encoding on your CD-Burner, you will have just created a succesful 1:1 copy of your
Battlefield 1942 CD #1. You can repeate all the steps again to create CD #2 (Just make sure you name the .CCD file to BF1942_2.CCD)

And makes sure you SELECT the "_ClonyXXL" profile! The whole reason you use ClonyXXL is to scan for cd protection, and by clicking start CloneCd, it imports the
Settings you need for that specific protection. So it's imperative that you follow this guide to a T.

Anyways, I hope this helps. It worked great for me, I got a nice copy of my BF1942 CD's and can safely put store the other ones.

Footnotes:
IMHO If your burner has one sheep, then enable AWS. If it has two sheep, then I suggest you disable it as it sometimes causes problems.

Also, there may be an ATIP check, so enable Hide CD-R Media in the Clone CD Tray, or play the game from a non cd-writer.

Ahhh, good points. Forgot those, lol.
But I'm from Canada, so don't really need to worry about ATIP
My CD worked perfect without any Hide CDR Media.

Is there no ATIP on Canadian CD-Rs?

A little bit of research on your part and you could have saved yourself the hassle of resurrecting another old thread! Ive noticed you have resurrected a few older threads now.

You can perform you own sheep test on your burner. Read how to do it here.

In my opinion the easiest method to create a backup of Battlefield 1942 is to create a CD2DVD conversion.

You can also create a CD2DVD conversion of BF 1942 + Road to Rome + Secret Weapons, all on the one DVD.

Battlefield Vietnam can also be converted to a DVD.

will copying black and white using this method not work if u have the latest clonecd software and not the one u list in your instructions?

I tried the sheep test, however, when i click the batch file it doesnt create a dat file, it creates a video cd file for some reason.
