"Cutting" and "joining" mp3s

Can you please tell me of a programm that is able to cut pieces of mp3s?

For example I have one audio interview and I want to do montage in it.Remove some pieces from it and have it as one mp3 once again but without some minutes.

Thanks a lot!

I use mp3DirectCut (free software) for cutting MP3's: simple and right to the point. If you need something more complicated, I recommend you check out GoldWave; however, it's not free and it edits MP3's by converting them to WAV's first (=> loss of quality when you convert them back to MP3 format).

As for joining MP3's, the file format is designed for streaming, therefore you can simply append MP3 audio files together with a file manager. Tags may not work correctly and some software may not be able to process them (unable to skip non-audio blocks inside the MP3 that were at the beginning or end of the files that you joined together) but that's a matter of bad programming.

I've never used Audacity before but a good idea: I've also seen many people deify it.

Audacity it's a good choice, opensource, and its ported to windows too

http://audacity.sourceforge.net/

Have a lot more functions than Adobe Audition, and lots more lightweight ever

Other opensource option also ported to windows it's
