It is a lot of work though, a mod is much better. It involves hotswapping a dvd with your xbox game (on your PC) to get a full Image of the disk...by "full", I mean every sector, used or not, will be copied. This also means that you can only use DVD-DL disks, which can be costly. You will also have to patch the image. There is more detail on X-S

This hack allows you to play backups on xbox live, but due to the xbox security and how this hack works, it means that you cannot alter the content in the image. Basically, if you want to mod some Halo 2 maps, you still cannot modify the older maps and play on live. This hack is only available for the Samsung drive atm.

I hope we will see some real mod anytime so that we can get custom dashboards and stuff...
