Pirates of the carabien and some other games
I read some toppicsabout using data-burn or iso-burn. People say that iso-burn loads up faster. It`s true but most games just don`t work with iso-burn. Is it the program i use or something. Now I burn my discs but data-burn but soem games like pirates don`t work that well. The game contains over 10.000 files so i believe that is the problem. The files on the disc are so small. like 1 or 2 kb. I think if I burn this game with the iso-burn I don`t have this problem anymore. But can someone tell me which program the best is for making iso files that will work?

You shouldn't have a problem backing up "POTC" using the UDF data burn method, as i've backed that game up flawlessly. Burning games from an 'iso' image is okay, yet the data burn is proven to be more reliable (less coasters). You can try out 'iso' maker 2.0 using the GDFimage, which is the proper MS disc mastering tool. However, i can't tell you where to d/l as it's copyrighted code.
The boot-up time, etc with a data burn game can be a bit slower. However, if you patch a game via craxtion for the media check, there is sometimes a noticable difference in the load/boot-up time timeof the title. |

I am a firm believer in ISOs. I use SimpleXIso and I just dont have problems. Any game works and works well.
I will say this, that if you are having loading problems another thing you can do is create a dummy file with the name of 000 or something to where its always put in the beginning of the disc. That pushes the rest of the game files to the end of the disc where the speed is much faster and so is loading. You would have to figure how big a dummy file you would put on each game. This should work for DATA BURNS too. I just dont care for them. Tyler!

Also, if you don't know how to creat a dummy file. You can alternatively make a folder called 0000 or whatever, then place a bunch of random files in it. Or if you have a large movie file, just rename it to 0000.dat.
