LotR:BfME question about mini image
Having picked up:
LotR: Battle for Middle-Earth [ENGLISH] No-CD/No-DVD/Fixed Image and Daemon Tools and mounted said image into the virtual drive, I find that the contents of the drive are deemed corrupt and are unreadable (the volume label is displayed correctly though as LOTRBFME). Is this what I should expect? If so the method doesn't work. The game (using the original game.dat patched to 1.02) still reports that I have CD/DVD emulation software install and won't play ball. I have tried mounting another (old) CD image and this gives what I expect - an explorable drive. Any thoughts would be much appreciated. |

yes, the files on a mini image are all corrupt, because they aren't there
the mini image contains only the beginning of the cd where the corrupt sectors are which are needed for the copy protection to recognise the cd as an original.. if the game complains about emulation software on your computer, you either have additional software installed (clonecd or something like that) or you have daemon tools installed the wrong way. when you install daemon tools, you have to choose advanced mode and change the default names of the devices (i don't remember what the default names are, d467scsi or something similar). -andy- |
