Files playing at excellerated rate in VLC
I started to watch the first season of a show, and watched about 5 episodes of it. I then came home one day to continue where I left off, and for whatever reason it is playing at an excellerated rate. I tried playing files from different shows, or the ones I already watched and they all do this now. I'm using VLC to play them and it does have an option to slow down the files, but when I do that there is no way to get it back to "real time", I have also tried playing them in windows media player and they do not work. I Have tried reinstalling VLC as well and that did nothing. This seems like a very unique issue, I have not tampered with any settings in VLC at all, it was completely out of the blue.
Does anyone have any suggestions as to what the problem may be here? |

What version is it? (The latest is 1.1.11, at this moment.) What exactly happens when you use the Faster/Slower/etc. items in the Playback menu? Have you tried deleting the program settings? (See C:\Documents and Settings\(username)\Application Data\VLC.)
Also, try playing the movies with MPlayer. I'm sorry to say but, although VLC is stuffed with great features, it's also full of bugs. (The DOS Navigator-effect...) And, yes, MPlayer has GUI frontends: try MPUI and SMPlayer.

Thanks very much, I downloaded MPlayer and it plays the files fine!
Still curious as to why it played the first 6 episodes of the show fine, then one day it didn't any more. But I can watch them again now ![]() |

Down at the bottom of VLC check the slider that say 1x that is the only option VLC has for make fast or slow a video. 1x is normal speed
