The Sims Medieval DVD9 to 2xDVD5

The Sims Medieval DVD9 to 2xDVD5

1) Create folders 'DISK1' and 'DISK2' and copy content of DVD9 to folder DISK1

2) Move following files from DISK1\GameData\Shared\Packages to DISK2\GameData\Shared\Packages

Code:
SASFullBuild1.package
3) Copy Autorun.inf and SimsMedieval.ico from DISK1 to DISK2

4) Edit Autorun.inf in DISK2 folder to like this

Code:
[autorun]
open=0
icon=SimsMedieval.ico
5. Burn or make iso's with same label names of temp folders

Install Sequence: DVD1-DVD2-DVD1

DVD1 => 4,00 gb
DVD2 => 1.09 gb

I think that this is the conversion similar to The Sims 3 Dumped Down version from this link:

http://fileforums.com/showpost.php?p...5&postcount=14

Do this conversion for the sims 3 medival and
just move the arc files to support\vp6 folder and burn it down

OK I've got a little free time today so I did a simillar vp6install unpacker but I'm new in this business so don't take ma hard on this.

The Sims Medieval dvd9 to 1xdvd5

IMAGES FOR STEPS ARE FROM THE SIMS 3 DUMPED DOWN VERSION SO DON'T ASK WHY ARE THERE "*.arc" FILES INSTEAD "*.EXE" FILES

Install FreeArc any version
http://sourceforge.net/project/showf...roup_id=207033
http://sourceforge.net/project/downl...exe&a=91028626

THEN:

1) Copy contents of DVD9 to a temp folder. (We will call it "C:\temp\" in this example)
And This part has three versions:
[code]
With three seperate archives of GameData folder(GameData0, GameData1 and GameData2),Caches and Thumbnails
2a) With FreeArc, browse the temp folder and click on the "Caches" folder.
3a) Click on "add" (Button with red circle on it), select "maximum compression", "make exe [sfx archive]"
4a) Make three folders GameData0, GameData1 and GameData2 with full paths to *.package files (the path will be for each GameDataX folder "GameData\Shared\Packages")
5a) Copy "SASFullBuild0.package" File to "GameData0\GameData\Shared\Packages" folder.
6a) With FreeArc, browse the temp\GameData0 folder and Click on the "GameData" folder.
7a) Click on "add" , select "maximum compression", "make exe [sfx archive]"
8a) Copy "SASFullBuild1.package" File to "GameData1\GameData\Shared\Packages" folder.
9a) With FreeArc, browse the temp\GameData1 folder and Click on the "GameData" folder.
10a) Click on "add" , select "maximum compression", "make exe [sfx archive]"
11a) Copy "SASFullBuild2.package" File to "GameData2\GameData\Shared\Packages" folder.
12a) With FreeArc, browse the temp\GameData2 folder and Click on the "GameData" folder.
13a) Click on "add" , select "maximum compression", "make exe [sfx archive]"
14a) Download fake_files.rar, unpack the content and replace cache, gamedata and thumbnails folders with it
15a) Go to Support\vp6 folder and make vp6 folder in it
16a) MOVE those files to newly created vp6 folder:
Code:
vp6vfw.dll
vp6install.exe
vp6.reg
17a) Download vp6installGD0-2.rar and unpack the content to support\vp6 folder
18a) Move those files to Support\vp6 folder:
Code:
Caches.exe
GameData0.exe
GameData1.exe
GameData2.exe
Thumbnails.exe
19a) Delete GameData0, GameData1 and GameData2 folders from temp folder
20a) Burn the game with the label you like

One GameData.exe archive with Caches.exe and thumbnails.exe archives:
2) With freearc, browse the temp folder and click on the "Caches" folder
3) Click on "add" (Button with red circle on it), select "maximum compression", "make exe [sfx archive]"
4) Click on the "files" tab, then check the box "Include only files larger than:" set it to "10kb", then click ok. (See pictures for steps 2-4)
5) With freearc, browse the temp folder and click on the "GameData" folder
6) Click on "add" (no need to select "maximum" as it stays selected)
7) Click on the "files" tab, then check the box "Include only files larger than:" set it to "100mb", then click ok. (See pictures for steps 5-7)
8) With freearc, browse the temp folder and click on the "Thumbnails" folder
9) Click on "add"
10) Click on the "files" tab, then check the box "Include only files larger than:" set it to "10kb", then click ok. (See pictures for steps 8-10)
I was left with 3 archives in the "temp\" folder:
Code:
Caches.exe
GameData.exe
Thumbnails.exe
11) Create new folder named "vp6" in in the "temp\Support\VP6\" folder
12) Move all 3 files
  • vp6.reg
  • vp6install.exe
  • vp6vfw.dll
from "C:\temp\Support\VP6\" folder to the new "vp6" folder
13) Extract "vp6install.exe" from the "vp6installGD.rar" archive to your "C:\temp\Support\VP6\" folder
14) Move your 3 archive files from "C:\temp\" folder to the "C:\temp\Support\VP6\" folder
15) replace files from Caches, GameData and thumbnails folders with ones from the fake_files.rar archive
16) Burn image with any label.

Version with Caches, GameData and Thumbnails folders in one archive(the longest one to pack):
1) Make a folder named TSMedievaldata in the temp folder.
2) in TSMedievaldata make three folders: Caches, GameData, Thumbnails.
3) in TSMedievaldata\GameData Folder make a path like this: Shared\Packages
4) Copy these files to the certain folders in "":
Code:
Caches\WorldCastle.objectCache to "TSMedievaldata\Caches"
GameData\Shared\Packages\SASFullBuild0.package to "TSMedievaldata\GameData\Shared\Packages"
GameData\Shared\Packages\SASFullBuild1.package to "TSMedievaldata\GameData\Shared\Packages"
GameData\Shared\Packages\SASFullBuild2.package to "TSMedievaldata\GameData\Shared\Packages"
Thumbnails\AllThumbnails.package to "TSMedievaldata\Thumbnails"
Thumbnails\CasThumbnails.package to "TSMedievaldata\Thumbnails"
5) With freearc, browse the temp\TSMedievaldata folder and select all folders that are in it.
6) Click on "add" (Button with red circle on it), select "maximum compression", "make exe [sfx archive]"
It will take some time for freearc to complete(for me it was about 3h because my HDD has its limits)
7) replace files from Caches, GameData and thumbnails folders with ones from the fake_files.rar archive
8) Create new folder named "vp6" in in the "temp\Support\VP6\" folder
9) Move all 3 files
  • vp6.reg
  • vp6install.exe
  • vp6vfw.dll
from "temp\Support\VP6\" folder to the new "vp6" folder
10) Extract "vp6install.exe" from the "vp6installerTSMedievaldata.rar" archive to your "temp\Support\VP6\" folder
11) Move TSMedievaldata.exe to your "temp\Support\VP6\" folder
12) Delete TSMedievaldata folder from temp folder
13) Burn the game with label of your choice

Size after conversion: 3,92 GB
