The reason 4x does not show up for you is probably because either you DVD burner does not support 4x or the discs themselves are only 2x. Burning at 2x wont be the issue, the slower the better.
Now the problem with the discs not being read in the DVD player may be because the player does not like the brand of disc? Have you played any copied movies (regardless of the brand) in the player before?

But it is unusual it does not play in your PC?
Are you sure, in Nero, that you placed 'all' the files into the 'Video_TS' folder?
All files must go into that Video_TS folder!
Also what program are you using in your PC to view the DVD? I use WinDVD 7 only because its the program I currently have installed.
But most (if not all) of the popular DVD player programs should be able to play the DVD, after all it is only a DVD but with the region code and the protection removed.
I could suggest another way to burn the disc but I want to just re-check the method first, then I will get back to you on it.

Grumpy no I never played a burned dvd in my players befor. I tried 4 difrent dvd players and when I try it in my pc I have to go to my computer and click on my dvd drive. It says to insert a disc..
And yes all the files do go into the video_ts folder.
I am using Windows Media Center.
What is the best dvd to buy????

Thanks for Helping

I find using nero 7 and any dvd works the best. Sometimes with clone dvd 2 the quality of the movie isnt that great when you wish to copy the entire dvd, while with nero 7 you can decrease the quality of the extras or menus, and have the main movie a good quality

Hmmm, I havent actually tried this method, but I will.
Although when I backup a movie, one of the main reasons I do it is to get rid of all the menu's and the extras, that way when I insert the DVD it just plays right away, without waiting forever for the extras, warnings, advertising etc to go through.

@grumpy
You have a good point there. I might actually do that from now on so the main movie is at its best quality. But i guess if you back up the whole disc then you dont have to use your original if you want to watch extra's and so on keeping in in good condition. I have tried clone dvd 2 but i have had a few coaster using that program, where i just get a black screen so ill stick with Nero 7 for now

DVD Smith is freeware and is great if you just copy DVD to your hard drive. For DVD to DVD copying, I recommended Movie DVD Copy. It is a pretty good DVD Copy program that rip protected DVDs. I've been using it all the time and never miss backing up a DVD. These two software can be found at this website
