Hi in this forum were going to talk about the best and cheapst dvd writers and software

Dvd Writers

Pioneer - As we all know people are going to buy these as they know there reliable and are pritty fast at recording as the never versions 105 a05 and 106 all record at 4x

Pioneer 106 is the latest release by pioneer which allows you to copy dvd-r and +r at the same speed of 4x and more compatiable with blank dvds

Pioneer 105 is the same as the 106 but it doesnt allow you to copy dvd+r which isnt a major problem

Pioneer 104 is an older version which allows you to burn at 2x which is slow and would rcommend

Sony- Are very well know for there technlology so there dvd writers are gonna be good!

The only writer from sony i have seen is the DWU-10A which does the same job as a pioneer 106 but more expensive

Teac- A company not alot of peaple buy from the writers i have seen are relabled pioneer 105 and 106's so not alot of diffrence

NEC- Nec started to make dvd+r writers first but now they do both dvd-r/+r and are a resonable price too

Lg- What can i say i think lg are very very good i know bighap will tell you i had a 4x cdrw and i didnt have any problems what so ever great drive at the time and i think there dvd roms and writers are tops speciallly there write dvd-ram!

Software

Software my god theres so much on the market the best for ps2 games is stomp record now max if you need help with this program please refer to bighaps guide to copy ps2 games

Another fine piece of software is made by 321 studios who are know to do software as dvd copy plus which rips dvds to vcd/svcd this piece of software will compress the dvd keep the official meus and rips the dvd this is called dvd x copy xpress i made a backup in just under 40 minutes!

Last but no least is the roxio easy cd dvd creator and the most basic of all programs to use. It will make vcds dvds svcds and just burn normal 74 minute and 80 minute cds

CD'S

Cds are very important it matters when it comes to dvd writers because you need a diffrent type of media ie +r or -r

The most reliable disk i have seen is the traxdata labeled dvd-r comes with either g03 and g04 recomemded for your ps2 xbox or dvd players, the next budget dvd-r goes to bulkpaq orange with a princo dye its v good i use it to backup my hard drive saves alot of money spaming it over hundreds of cdr's, next i come on to cdrs. Cdrs arnt really important no more as dvds hold 4.7 gig but if you like to make backup games get some cdrs the best budget cdr i found were datasafe there were about 4 pounds for 10 cdrs and i had no problems with these, if you want to go up market get some tdk or verbatim disk theses are around 10 pound for 10 disks they come in jewel cases

Hey everybody heres an update

I found out where to get some cheap good cd-r's there made by a company called datasafe and i use them and ive had no problems go to www.svp.co.uk. There ONLY £4.49

Pioneer 106s have droped in price very quickly i got mine for 128.99 and one month later its only £99! go to www.svp.co.uk for more info

Anther fine release by lite-on has hit the shops dual burning which means +r/-r and only 89.99 very good burner i think

People With Pioneer Drives Do Not Use This Brand
