space channel 5 part 2 problem

i haev a problem with space channel 5 part 2
I downloaded all the files.
they are all named "DC_SP5P2_Jap.part1.rar, .part2.rar ...
when i tried extracting from the first volume: DC_SP5P2_Jap.part01.rar it tells me 2 things:

! C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\DC_SP5P2_Jap.part01.rar: Unknown method in DC_SP5P2_Jap.cdi
! C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\DC_SP5P2_Jap.part02.rar: You need to start extraction from a previous volume to unpack ....
its logic that it deosn't extract since all the 29 filez finish with rar and not r00 or 001, 002...
but i can't find out how to rename them or how to change the method in DC_SP5P@_Jap.cdi

Renaming them is SOOOO easy! In Windows Explorer, just click once on the filename, then click the filename again (do not double-click). This will highlight the name and leave you with a flashing cursor at the end of the filename. Using the left & right arrow keys to move the cursor, and use BACKSPACE to delete a character to the left of the cursor or "DELETE" to delete characters to the right of the cursor, you can change the name however you like. When you're through, either press ENTER or click outside of the filename (anywhere but the actual name), to save the new name.

You're right about the RAR files needing to be named with sequential extensions. They need to be named with the same base filename (the name to the left of the extension) and each file needs its own respective sequential extension: (.rar, .r00, .r01, .r02, .r03) or (.001, .002, .003, .004)

Once you have them renamed correctly, you will **ONLY** extract the files from the very first file. WinRAR will automatically see all of the other files (sequentially extensioned) as being part of the same file and will continue through them all until the data is fully extracted. The problem you're running into is you're trying to extract a file from the second segment but the start of the file you're extracting is actually in the first segment.

That's what I first thought, but there's no need to rename any file !!!
This release has been packed with WinRAR 3.00 so you need at least this version to unpack the 1st file. Other files will follow and you'll get your CDI file ready to burn.

thx megalexx i did what u said and evrything worked fine.
But i heard that some people had problem with space channel 5 part 2 on PAL DCs and others didn't mine is Pal , is this problem real or false, if so could u tell me where to get a patch or somethin.

Yes, there are some problems on this game on some PAL DCs.
I've got a PAL DC myself, but no problem with this game. But a friend of mine has these problems. I don't know where it comes from...

Loads of people are looking for a patch, but there's none yet. Try to run the game on your DC before looking for a patch. Maybe it runs well.
